Thanks to the support of CSS Assurance, the Festival del film Locarno is once again happy to offer the audience a free screening on the Piazza Grande the night before the event’s official opening.

La nostra vita (Italy), the latest feature from Daniele Luchetti (My Brother Is an Only Child, 2007), will be screened as a Swiss preview on Tuesday, August 3 at 9.30 p.m. A dramatic portrait of a contemporary Italian family, the film was in official competition at Cannes this year, where Elio Germano, who plays the lead role, won the Best Male Actor Award.
In addition, from July 30 to August 1, the Piazza Grande will host the three pre-Festival “OPEN SPACE: Cinema in Piazza Grande” evenings. This year’s films, chosen by the Artistic direction of the Festival del film Locarno, are Gustave Kervern and Benoît Delépine’s Mammuth (France); Gary Winick’s Letters to Juliet (USA) and Pascal Chaumeil’s L'arnacœur (France) (adults 20 CHF, students 15 CHF).
