More than 1000 accredited journalists from over 30 countries around the world cover the Locarno International Film Festival each year. The Press Office is ready to help you with your work, on the first floor of the Palazzo Sopracenerina.

Interviews with jurors, special guests, directors and casts of films in the official selection present in Locarno, as well as with the president and director of the Festival are planned and coordinated by the international press agents. They can be contacted through the festival’s Press Office:

The Festivals Photo Service
«Fotofestival» presents a daily selection of photos available to journalists on this website. It is also possible to order exclusive pictures (ask for cost estimate).
Press Kits
The Press kits of films in the official selection can be downloaded from the press area on this website. Hard copies will be distributed in the press mailboxes or can be requested at the front desk of the Press Office.
One thousand mailboxes are available for the press and industry professionals, on the first floor of the Palazzo Sopracenerina. Journalists, who have received a mailbox number can collect their key from the Sala Blu (Blue Room) next door to the Press Office. A deposit of 10 CHF (6 €) is required. The mailbox allocated must be emptied regularly. Mailboxes that have not been emptied after three days will no longer be supplied and may be allocated to another user.
Clips and sounds of certain films will be available to radio and TV journalists at the Press Office. To copy the video clips they will be lent to the journalists, but must be returned to the Press Office as soon as possible. For television representatives, who do not have access to their own duplicating equipment, the technical services of the Swiss Italian Radio and television (RSI) can be rented just a short walk from the Palazzo Sopracenerina. At the Video Library sound and video recordings of official press conferences and round tables, etc. will be available to radio and TV journalists.
The Festival offers press screenings for the films in the sections International Competition, Filmmakers of the Present Competition and Piazza Grande.
WARNING: EMBARGO!
Since the general public will only be able to see these films later on, we remind journalists that they are kindly requested to respect the embargo and not publish reviews of the films before the day following their first official screening.
The program of press screenings will be available on this website in the area reserved for the press from July 29th or at the Press Office.
For press screenings there will be a simultaneous translation service in French or English and in Italian, depending on the language of the subtitles.
The Press Conferences with film delegations of the International Competition and the Piazza Grande will generally be held around 11 a.m. at the Palazzo Morettini on the same day as their official screening.
Film delegations of the International Competition presented in the FEVI Auditorium will meet the audience after the official screening at the FORUM Spazio/Cinema.
Meetings with the audience for the sections Filmmakers of the Present Competition and all other sections will take place in the theater after the official screening.

A daily international press review will be posted at the Sopracenerina.
The majority of titles in the official selection can be viewed at the Video Library, situated on the right of the entrance to the Altra Sala Theater. Opening hours: 10 a.m. until 7.30 p.m. (August 4-14, 2010). The access is reserved for press and professionals. Reservation required.
Journalists, who have purchased a Press Room Card (available at the accreditation desk for 20 CHF (12 €) will be able to use the Press Room, situated on the 2nd floor of Palazzo Marcacci. Computers with internet access, printers, fax machines, telephones and workstations with wireless or cable internet facilities are at disposal.
Opening hours:
from 3rd thru 14th of August, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.;
on the 15th of August, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The wireless Internet connection will also be available inside the Palazzo Sopracenerina, on the Piazza Grande, and at the Spazio/Cinema. The password will be given when the accreditation is picked up.
