A modern and efficient motorway runs through all of Ticino (A2). The St. Gotthard-tunnel allows travelers to forgo climbing the majestic alpine passes. In season, you may also enjoy the picturesque ride over the Pass. For a more northeasterly direction, the San Bernardino highway (A13) begins just north of Bellinzona and links Ticino to Eastern Switzerland, Bavaria and Austria. Ticino is also easily accessible from French Switzerland.

Traveling by train in Switzerland is comfortable and very reliable; thanks to the world's best rail system. Numerous international trains arrive in Ticino every hour from the gateways Basel und Zurich, stopping in Bellinzona (with direct connections to Locarno, on Lake Maggiore). Also the picturesque and romantic journey with the Centovalli Railway, links Ticino (from Locarno to Domodossola) directly with French Switzerland (Brig, Lausanne & Geneva).

Shuttle Bus
