Inaugurated in 2001, La Sala is one of the two theaters – the other being the Altra Sala – created through the renovation of what was formerly the Morettina Cinema. Situated close by the Forum and Fevi Auditorium in the zone now referred to as Spazio Cinema, La Sala is a state-of-the-art theater which allows screening with optimum audio and video quality of anything from silent classics to contemporary 16 or 35 mm film, video in any format and digital HD. In particular La Sala acts as the venue for the Concorso Cineasti del presente (Filmmakers of the Present Competition) and for the twofold competition for short subjects run by the Pardi di domani (national and international).
